Objectives

Advance Whitsundays intends to become a promotional and lobbying force representing the 'silent majority' in the Whitsundays, and to pursue the objectives of the majority of the local residents, businesses, operators and service providers.

We believe the marketing of the the Whitsunday Islands and Mainland should be to:

  • promote the Whitsundays to produce results;
  • treat and promote all with respect and fairness;
  • consult our neighboring regions;
  • consult vertical organizations (Backpacking, Diving etc.);
  • embrace new technologies and old values;
  • encourage greener values and lower carbon footprints;
  • assist community orientated projects;
  • encourage new and innovative events;
  • lobby intelligently, credibly and with decorum;
  • encourage new residents and telecommuting;
  • encourage new non-tourism services;
  • quickly inform and adapt to sudden changes or events;
  • have our visitors leave overwhelmed.
